Expert Diagnostic Scan Analysis
Buyer-focused interpretation of a supplied multi-system diagnostic scan.

High diagnostic concern
Faults appear across several important vehicle systems. Independent diagnosis is needed before a buyer commits funds.
Bell scan summary
The supplied diagnostic scan shows faults across several important vehicle systems. The combination of engine misfire, turbocharger underboost, transmission-control, ABS/stability-control, supplemental-restraint and module-communication faults creates meaningful pre-purchase uncertainty. A trouble code identifies a condition detected by the vehicle; it does not by itself prove which component has failed.
| Code / system | Scan finding | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| P0302 — Engine | Cylinder 2 misfire detected | High |
| P0299 — Engine / Boost | Turbocharger underboost condition | High |
| Transmission Control | Manufacturer-specific transmission fault detected | High |
| C0035 — ABS / DSC | Wheel-speed sensor circuit fault | Moderate |
| SRS / Airbag | Supplemental restraint-system fault detected | High |
| U0101 — Network | Lost communication with transmission control module | High |

Diagnostic findings explained
Bell translates the scan into buyer-focused risk. The goal is to identify what the codes could mean and what deserves verification before a deal, without guessing which part needs replacement.
Why the combination matters
The concern is not simply the number of stored faults. Several codes touch systems that can materially affect repair cost, drivability and safety. When powertrain, transmission and network faults appear together, clearing the codes does not demonstrate that the underlying conditions have been corrected. Some faults may return only after additional drive cycles or operating conditions.
What should be independently verified
- The cause of the cylinder misfire and whether compression, injector or internal-engine testing is warranted.
- The source of the underboost condition and whether the turbocharger/boost-control system is operating to specification.
- Transmission operation, fluid condition where applicable, and the source of the manufacturer-specific transmission fault.
- Whether the U0101 communication fault returns after a complete drive cycle and battery/charging-system verification.
- Proper ABS/stability-control operation after the wheel-speed circuit fault is addressed.
- Proper SRS/airbag operation and confirmation that no active restraint-system fault remains.
- Whether diagnostic codes or readiness monitors indicate that faults may have been recently cleared.
Questions to ask the seller
- When did the warning lights or diagnostic faults first appear?
- What repairs have already been attempted, and are invoices available?
- Have any codes been cleared recently? If so, why?
- Has the vehicle experienced battery, charging-system or low-voltage problems?
- Has any transmission, turbocharger, engine or SRS work been performed?
- Will the seller authorize an independent inspection and fresh multi-system scan before funds are committed?
Do not proceed without further diagnosis
The scan shows faults involving multiple high-cost and safety-related systems. No individual code proves that a specific component has failed; however, the combination of engine, boost, transmission, communication and restraint-system faults creates significant uncertainty about the vehicle's mechanical condition and potential repair exposure.
Bell strongly encourages independent diagnosis of these conditions before making an offer, leaving a deposit or completing the purchase.

This report uses demonstration vehicle and scan data created solely to illustrate Bell Auto Consulting's Expert Diagnostic Scan Analysis. Diagnostic trouble codes identify conditions detected by a vehicle's electronic systems and do not, by themselves, prove that a particular component has failed or establish repair cost. Bell Auto Consulting analyzes customer- or inspector-supplied scan information for pre-purchase decision support and does not physically diagnose, dismantle or repair the vehicle. Independent mechanical diagnosis may be necessary to determine the cause of any fault.
